Understanding tire references

The tire reference is divided into multiple parts, each of them referring to specific tire dimensions.

• AAA / BB R CC : The first three-digit number in the tire size refers to the tire width in millimeters.
• AAA / BB R CC : The two-digit number after the slash mark in a tire size is the aspect ratio.
• AAA / BB R CC : The letter 'R' in a tire size stands for 'radial', which means the layers run radially across the tire.
• AAA / BB R CC : Wheel diameter is the size of the wheel measured from one end to the other.
